ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Model of Angular Object Positioning Process by a System of Oblique Friction Force Fields on Parallel Planes
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The primary contribution of the paper is a proposal of a method to minimize the angular positioning error in the process of transferring cuboidal objects between oblique friction force fields generated by two conveyors ...
SelfAdaptive Grasping Analysis of a Simulated “Soft” Mechanical Grasper Capable of SelfLocking
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this paper, a simulated “soft” mechanical grasper (GXUGrasper) with selflocking capability, selfadaptive object shape, singledegree of actuation, and full rigid structure is taken as the research object, and its ...
Kinematics and Statics of a 3UPU Robot in Screw Coordinates
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper investigates the kinematics and statics of a 3UPU robot in screw coordinates. According to the definition of a twist, both the angular velocity of a rigid body and the linear velocity of a point on it are expressed ...
Neural Network Approaches for Soft Biological Tissue and Organ Simulations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Given the functional complexities of soft tissues and organs, it is clear that computational simulations are critical in their understanding and for the rational basis for the development of therapies and replacements. A ...
EnergyEconomic and ExergyEnvironment Performance Evaluation of Compact Heat Exchanger With Turbulator Passive Inserts Using THDNF
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Technology innovation requires advanced heat transporting techniques to fulfill better exergy and economic behavior of compact air heat exchangers (HXs). Three different turbulator inserts, TTIs, PTTIs, and DTTIs (twisted ...
Effect of Direct Liquid Cooling Technology With Flow Guide Integration on Avionics Devices Thermal and Electrical Performance
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: With the application of various highpower electronic devices to improving aircraft comprehensive performance, there has been a significant interest in the use of high heat flux dissipation technology to maintain an effective ...
Natural Convection From an Isothermally Heated Hollow Vertical Cylinder Submerged in Quiescent PowerLaw Fluids
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An attempt has been made to study the natural convection around a hollow vertical cylinder numerically which is suspended in motionless powerlaw fluids in the laminar range. The influence of various nondimensional pertinent ...
A Microencapsulated PhaseChange Material SuspensionBased Integrated Thermal Management System for Extended Range Electric Vehicle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In order to improve the temperature maintenance capacity for the battery of the extendedrange electric vehicle (EREV) in a lowtemperature environment, a microencapsulated phasechange material suspension (MPCMS)based ...
Numerical Study of Heat Transfer Characteristics of Impinging Syngas Flames From MultiSlot Burner
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Characteristics of impinging flames from a multislot burner fueled by synthetic gas are studied using a comprehensive numerical model. A multislot burner with five fuel slots and six air slots arranged in an alternately ...
Investigation on Thermal Performance of a Novel Passive Phase Change MaterialBased Fin Heat Exchanger
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work presents a numerical investigation of the thermal control performance of a phase change material (PCM) compositefilling fin heat exchanger under natural convection and transient heat flux shocks. First, the ...
