ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Novel Non-Fourier Ice Heat Conduction Model Considering Latent Heat Via Specific Heat Capacity Functionalization and Its Potential Application
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Proton exchange membrane fuel cells are widely used in the automotive and aviation fields due to their high efficiency and environmental friendliness. However, the long starting time of fuel cell vehicles at low temperatures ...
Importance of Temperature-Dependent Non-Newtonian Fluid in Conventional Thermal Processing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation provides full-field variables, enabling a better understanding of flow physics and associated heat transfer. However, assumptions involved in CFD simulation should not affect ...
Analysis and Optimization of Heat Dissipation Module in the Motor Grader Engine Compartment
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: To solve the problem of heat reflow in the fan rotation center of the forced convection cooling system in the engine compartment, this study established a calculation model of the external flow field of the engine compartment’s ...
Effect of Direct Liquid Cooling Technology With Flow Guide Integration on Avionics Devices Thermal and Electrical Performance
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: With the application of various high-power electronic devices to improving aircraft comprehensive performance, there has been a significant interest in the use of high heat flux dissipation technology to maintain an effective ...
A Microencapsulated Phase-Change Material Suspension-Based Integrated Thermal Management System for Extended Range Electric Vehicle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In order to improve the temperature maintenance capacity for the battery of the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) in a low-temperature environment, a microencapsulated phase-change material suspension (MPCMS)-based ...
Natural Convection From an Isothermally Heated Hollow Vertical Cylinder Submerged in Quiescent Power-Law Fluids
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An attempt has been made to study the natural convection around a hollow vertical cylinder numerically which is suspended in motionless power-law fluids in the laminar range. The influence of various non-dimensional pertinent ...
Investigation on Thermal Performance of a Novel Passive Phase Change Material-Based Fin Heat Exchanger
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work presents a numerical investigation of the thermal control performance of a phase change material (PCM) composite-filling fin heat exchanger under natural convection and transient heat flux shocks. First, the ...
Effects of Blowing and Density Ratios on Unsteady Film Cooling Effectiveness Using Fast-Response Pressure-Sensitive Paint
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The transient effect of unsteady wakes on film cooling effectiveness using a fast response pressure sensitive paint (PSP) was studied. Testing was performed in a five-passage, low-speed wind tunnel using a scaled-up high ...
Numerical Study of Heat Transfer Characteristics of Impinging Syngas Flames From Multi-Slot Burner
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Characteristics of impinging flames from a multi-slot burner fueled by synthetic gas are studied using a comprehensive numerical model. A multi-slot burner with five fuel slots and six air slots arranged in an alternately ...
An Experimental and Modeling Study for a Novel Bank-Type Earth Air Heat Exchanger for the Summer Season Using Full Factorial Design
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The current study reports the modeling and experimental study of a novel bank-type earth air heat exchanger for both hot and humid and hot and dry weather of Ferozepur. The air has been flown through the bank in the induced ...
