ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Numerical Analysis of Liquid Potassium Flow and Heat Transfer in a Core for Space Nuclear Reactor Based on Entransy Dissipation Theory
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The research on the flow and heat transfer of alkali metals is an important technical means to strengthen the heat transfer of the core. In this paper, the 15 cooling channels with different structures are established. ...
Design and Optimization of a Helix Finned Tube Heat Exchanger for 2 K Superfluid Helium Vertical Test Stand
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A 2 K heat exchanger is essential for 2 K superfluid helium cryogenic systems, as it increases cooling capacity and improves overall system efficiency. The thermal performance of a 2 K heat exchanger is affected by many ...
Parametric Studies on a Two-Stage Evaporative Cooler During Tropical Climates in India
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This research study aims to work out the best possible performance parameters for a two-stage direct–indirect evaporative cooler (IDEC) when it is operated in Indian climatic conditions. A numerical simulation model has ...
Absorption Chiller System Driven by the Solar Hybrid System: Case Study in the Algeria Weather Condition
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this paper, the performances of a novel hybrid solar system using the Al2O3 nanofluid and pure water as a heat transfer fluid to operate a single-effect lithium bromide absorption chiller are investigated. In which the ...
Recent Progress and Challenges in Microscale Urban Heat Modeling and Measurement for Urban Engineering Applications
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This review focuses on progress and emerging challenges in experimentally validated modeling of microscale urban thermal environments over the last two decades. In the last few decades, there has been a surge in urban ...
Evaluation of Component Level Degradation in the Boeing 737-800 Air Cycle Machine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An aircraft is composed of several highly integrated and complex systems that enable it to deliver safe and comfortable flight. Its functionality is therefore strongly dependent on the safe operation of these systems within ...
Designing an Effective Plate Fin Heat Exchanger and Prediction of Thermal Performance Operated Under Different Water Blends Using Machine Learning
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The main aim of the article is intended to design an effective Plate-Fin Heat Exchanger (PFHX) with composite materials such as SS316 + copper and SS304 + Flyash in a counterflow type. These are brazed together with the ...
Numerical Prediction and Correlations of Effective Thermal Conductivity in a Drilled-Hollow-Sphere Architected Foam
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Additive manufacturing is now a promising option to obtain porous customized structures at relatively low scales. The capability to design structures with tunable heat transfer performance compared to conventional porous ...
Computational Fluid Dynamics Study on Exhaust Heat Recovery of Various Spiral Tube Heat Exchangers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: With the continuous development of internal combustion engine technology, the thermal efficiency of traditional energy vehicles has been difficult to improve, and the heat loss caused by high-temperature exhaust emissions ...
Modeling an Evaporative Cooling System to Improve Gas Turbines Performance
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Evaporative cooling systems are commonly used in thermoelectric plants to cool the air at gas turbines inlet, improving the performance of these engines. Normally, the evaporative cooling is modeled as adiabatic saturation ...
