ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Effect of Humid Tropical Climate and Electrical Current on the Electrical Sliding Wear Behavior of Graphite Brush in Motor
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The commutator and brush of the motor are often worn during operation. The wear of commutator—brushes is influenced by various factors: current density, material, sliding speed, contact force, temperature, and environmental ...
Small-Dataset Machine Learning for Wear Prediction of Laser Powder Bed Fusion Fabricated Steel
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The wear performance of an additively manufactured part is crucial to ensure the component’s functionality and reliability. Nevertheless, wear prediction is arduous due to numerous influential factors in both the manufacturing ...
Study on Lubricating Performance of the Bubbly Oil Under High Shear Rate—Part 2: Application Study in High-Speed Bearing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper aims to investigate the lubricating performance of the bubbly oil. Due to space limitation, the work is divided into two parts. Part 1 concluded that the bubbly oil under high shear rate has a lower viscosity ...
An Improved Slicing Technique for Finite Line Contacts in the Modeling of Rolling Element Bearings
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Mechanical system often involves the finite line contact of key components such as rolling element bearings and gear pairs. Different contact models have been developed to predict the load–displacement relationship and ...
A Machine Learning Approach for Real-Time Wheel-Rail Interface Friction Estimation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Predicting friction at the wheel-rail interface is a key problem in the rail industry. Current forecasts give regional-level predictions, however, it is well known that friction conditions can change dramatically over a ...
Study on Lubricating Performance of the Bubbly Oil Under High Shear Rate—Part 1: Generation Method and Viscosity Measurement of the Bubbly Oil
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Bubbly oil lubrication is a type of lubrication method that has a high potential for application. However, the lubricating performance of the bubbly oil has not been thoroughly considered. This paper aims to investigate ...
Numerical Investigation of Turbopump Bearing Heat Generation in Liquid Methane
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Liquid methane is one of the most promising candidates for the next-generation rocket propellant because it has an excellent balance between several propulsion performances such as specific impulse, storability, and ...
Experimental and Simulation Analysis on Windage Power Loss of Herringbone Gear Pair
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a novel windage power loss (WPL) measurement method for the meshing herringbone gear pair. First, the WPL test rig of the herringbone gear pair is put up, and then the measurement sequence of WPL is ...
The Microstructural Properties and Tribological Performance of Al2O3 and TiN Nanoparticles Reinforced Ti–6Al–4V Composite Coating Deposited on AISI304 Steel by TIG Cladding
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This investigation presents the tribological performance of (Al2O3 + TiN)/Ti6Al4V cladding deposited on AISI304 steel substrate by the tungsten inert gas (TIG) cladding approach. The microstructural characterization by SEM ...
Frictional Behaviors of 3D-Printed Polylactic Acid Components With Spiral-Groove Surface Textures Under Oil Lubrication
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: With the rapid development in additive manufacturing technology, three-dimensional (3D) printing process has been extensively utilized for the prototype manufacturing of industrial components. It is becoming possible and ...
