ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Influence of Real Lubricant Density–Pressure Behavior on the Dynamic Response of Elastohydrodynamic Lubricated Conjunctions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The current work investigates the influence of real lubricant density–pressure behavior on the dynamic response of elastohydrodynamic lubricated conjunctions. Such a response is often based on a nonrealistic universal ...
Research on Start-Stop Performance of Journal Bearing Based on an Isothermal and Mixed Lubrication Model With Different Acceleration and Deceleration Forms in Consideration
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In order to explore the influence of different acceleration and deceleration forms on the bearing performance during acceleration and deceleration, an isothermal and mixed lubrication model for journal bearings was ...
A Wear Calculation Method for Helical Gear Based on Irreversible Thermodynamics
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The accurate prediction of wear depth is of great significance to the failure evaluation of gear transmission. At present, the traditional wear calculation method is still unable to accurately predict the wear depth of ...
A Comparison of the High-Pressure Viscometry and Optical Inference Methods Used to Determine the Pressure-Viscosity Coefficient
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Pressure-viscosity coefficients (PVC) are used in the predictions of elastohydrodynamic lubricated (EHL) componentry. These coefficients are obtained by either viscometry or optical EHL inference. The literature indicates ...
Effect of Electric Current and Graphite Content on the Wear Behaviors of Copper/Graphite Composites
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The reasonable electric current and graphite content will slow down the wear failure of friction pair and prolong the service life of slip ring. To study the wear behaviors of copper/graphite composites under different ...
Evaluating the Time-Varying Mesh Stiffness of Planetary Gear Set With Gear Crack Considering the Friction Force Under Mixed Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication Condition
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The mesh stiffness calculation of the planetary gear system with gear crack is investigated, and gear crack is modeled into end-face and addendum extended crack. Furthermore, the mesh stiffnesses are calculated under the ...
Theoretical Development in the Viscosity of Ferrofluid
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The viscosity of ferrofluid has a vital role in liquid sealing of the hard disk drives, biomedical applications as drug delivery, hyperthermia, and magnetic resonance imaging. The theoretical expressions for ferrofluid ...
Tribological and Friction-Induced Vibration Behaviors of Inorganic Fullerene-Like Tungsten Disulfide and Three-Dimensional Graphene as Lubricant Additives
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Friction and friction-induced vibration have a great impact on the service life of mechanical systems. In this study, the tribological performances and vibration characteristics of three-dimensional graphene nanosheets (3D ...
Characterization of Magnetorheological Brake in Shear Mode Using High-Strength MWCNTs and Fumed Silica-Based Magnetorheological Fluids at Low Magnetic Fields
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The performance of magnetorheological (MR) brakes is dependent on the MR characteristics of the braking fluid, working parameters, and magnetic fields. Due to the size limitations, it is quite difficult to use large-sized ...
Computational Fluid–Structure Interaction Analysis of Piston Pin Multiphase Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication With Unsteady Flow Channel Variation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This research focuses on the multiphase oil film tribology between the piston pin and the connecting rod in an internal combustion engine and establishes a new computational approach for thin-film lubrication with unsteady ...
