ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

An Upgraded Chemical Kinetic Mechanism for Iso-Octane Oxidation: Prediction of Polyaromatics Formation in Laminar Counterflow Diffusion Flames
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Iso-octane is widely recognized as a prominent candidate to represent the oxidation of iso-alkanes within jet fuel and gasoline surrogates. This work evaluated a chemical kinetic mechanism for iso-octane focusing on the ...
Lessons Learned Toward Estimating the High-Pressure Turbine Inlet Temperature Profile Using Measurements Acquired at the High-Pressure Turbine Exit
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: To achieve higher thermal efficiency, gas turbines operate at increasingly higher turbine inlet temperatures, leading to the need for advanced cooling methods such as film cooling, impingement cooling, and passage cooling ...
Erratum: “Dynamical Characterization of Thermoacoustic Oscillations in a Hydrogen-Enriched Partially Premixed Swirl-Stabilized Methane/Air Combustor” [ASME J. Eng. Gas Turbines Power, 143(12), p. 121022; DOI: 10.1115/1.4052091]
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The following are the changes made to the original paper:1. Section 2 (Experimental setup) Last paragraph third sentence -For each combination of thermal load and equivalence ratio, the fraction of hydrogen in the fuel was ...
Control-Oriented Reduced-Order Modeling of Conversion Efficiency in Dual-Layer Washcoat Catalysts With Accumulation and Oxidation Functions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work proposes a model for predicting conversion efficiency in multifunctional catalysts with dual-layer washcoat. The mass transfer is more relevant in these devices than in single-layer washcoats due to additional ...
Deterministic Optimization Approach for High-Performance Externally Fired Biomass-Fueled Micro-Gas Turbines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work focuses on a dual-objective optimization of a 100 kWe externally fired micro-gas turbine utilizing the producer gas from a biomass gasifier. Although externally fired micro-gas turbines are convenient for resolving ...
Exploring the Oxy-Fuel Combustion in Spark-Ignition Engines for Future Clean Powerplants
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In the context of the CO2 challenge, oxy-fuel combustion in internal combustion engines (OFC-ICE) arises as a promising technology for carbon capture and almost zero-NOx solutions. Although the literature shows some ...
Blade Strain Peak Localization Method With Single Transducer During Multimode Vibration
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The dynamic strain/stress measurement of blades provides an effective method to anticipate fatigue life and investigate of failure causes. Unlike the blade strain peak is fixed during singlemode, which can be measured by ...
An Experimental Comparison of Cyclic Variations in Diesel–Natural Gas and POMDME–Natural Gas Dual Fuel Combustion
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Cyclic variations in internal combustion engines are caused by various factors, including combustion mixture stratification, in-cylinder flows, local fluctuations in air-fuel ratio, etc. Cyclic variations have a profound ...
Application of an Automatic Mesh Convergence Procedure for the Large Eddy Simulation of a Multipoint Injection System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Lean combustion is an attractive alternative to limit pollutants levels in order to meet the imposed limitations for the next generation of civil aero-engines. However, its implementation involves important technological ...
Dynamic Characteristics of Rotor-Squeeze Film Damper-Support System Excited by Base Harmonic Excitations Using MHB-AFT Method
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: When operating at high speed, aeroengines mounted on the aircrafts also perform complicated maneuvering flights along with the aircrafts. The engine rotor systems will undergo forced motions excited by base movements and ...
