Abstract: This paper discusses the inverse Liapunov problem, that is, the problem of synthesis of systems to satisfy given Liapunov functions. Vector-matrix equations are developed which represent classes of systems that satisfy specified Liapunov scalar functions. The equations form a basis for direct synthesis of systems to match Liapunov performance criteria. Examples illustrate techniques.
