    Abstract: The friction factors of single-phase microchannel with various roughness elements (rectangular, triangular, elliptical) were investigated numerically. The two-dimensional numerical solution shows significant influence of surface roughness including the height, size, and spacing of the roughness elements on the Poiseuille number. The fluid temperature effects are also investigated numerically for the rough channels.
