    Abstract: A new relation is presented to describe the deviations from the cosine law for cylindrical anemometer sensors inclined to the flow direction. The formula correlates the data for both hot-wire and hot-film sensors. One experimentally determined parameter, depending on the length-to-diameter ratio of the sensor, is used. The resulting corrections to the use of the cosine law for turbulent velocity correlations are also presented.
