description abstractBayesian parameter estimation is a powerful and versatile method with good convergence properties. This paper describes the use of the Bayesian method to estimate the parameters of a transit rail vehicle. The paper also addresses several issues of general interest in estimation work: cost function formulation, signal processing methods, parameter linking, and parameter estimability.
