Abstract: This paper considers the effect of heating on Taylor-Görtler vortices in laminar boundary layers. The effect of higher-order terms and the normal velocity component of the primary flow in the stability calculations has been demonstrated. The findings indicate that terms involving the higher-order effects of curvature as well as the normal component of the primary flow become increasingly important at small wave numbers. The effect of heating is to stabilize the flow to disturbances of long lateral wavelength but has a destabilizing effect on short wavelength disturbances.
