ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Calculating Natural Frequencies With Extended Tuplin’s Method
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this paper an efficient numerical procedure is described which yields the eigenvalue of a lumped mass torsional vibration directly from the frequency equation of the system. Special characteristics ...
Compliance and Stress Sensitivity of Spur Gear Teeth
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The magnitude and variation of tooth pair compliance with load position affects the dynamics and loading significantly, and the tooth root stressing per load varies significantly with load ...
Numerical Implementation of Complex Potentials for Gear Tooth Stress Analysis
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Stresses in spur gear teeth can be calculated by the complex potentials method, using a generalization of Hirano’s conformal mapping. Mathematical programming is used to fit the transformation ...
Effects of Case Depth and Relative Radius of Curvature on Surface Durability of Case-Hardened Chromium Molybdenum Steel Roller
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this report, effects of case depth and relative radius of curvature on surface durability of case-hardened chromium molybdenum steel roller are experimentally clarified. The experimental results ...
Factors Affecting Fatigue Strength of Nylon Gears
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The effects of some of the factors which influence fatigue strength of molybdenum disulphide (MoS2 ) filled cast nylon (type 6) gears such as diametral pitch, pressure angle, pitch line velocity, ...
An Integrated Approach for Design Improvement Based on Analysis of Time-Dependent Product Usage Data
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: With the recent advances in information gathering techniques, product performances and environment/operation conditions can be monitored, and product usage data, including time-dependent product performance feature data ...
Data-Driven Styling: Augmenting Intuition in the Product Design Process Using Holistic Styling Analysis
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Styling or product appearance is well known for holding great influence on its differentiation, branding, and overall success in the market. However, the styling process is difficult due to the intuitive and subjective way ...
Some Factors Influencing the Pitting, Micro-Pitting (Frosted Areas) and Slow Speed Wear of Surface Hardened Gears
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Surface hardness and hardening depth are the most important influence factors for the load capacity of surface hardened gears. Besides the structure of the hardening pattern, it’s carbon content, ...
