ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Computational Flow Analysis of Bipolar Plate for Fuel Cells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A trilayer fuel cell includes separate flow channels for hydrogen and oxygen. One potential alternative flow channel design is the use of a bipolar plate that connects cathode of a trilayer ...
Exergy Analysis of a Gas Turbine Cycle With Steam Generation for Methane Conversion Within Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The combination of fuel cells with conventional mechanical power generation technologies (heat engines) promotes effective transformation of the chemical energy of fuels into electrical work. The ...
Kawagoe 300kW Class MCFC/TCG Compact System: Thermal Efficiency and Endurance Test Results
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A 300kW class molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC)/gas turbine combined compact system has been designed; the system has a 250-cell MCFC stack and a turbocharger generator (TCG) as part of its ...
Design Methodology of a Proton Exchange Membrane Modular Fuel Cell of 100 W Power Output
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The design of the fuel cell plays a major role in determining their cost. It is not only the cost of materials that increases the cost of the fuel cell, but also the manufacturing techniques ...
Compositional Effect of Thin Electrode Functional Layers on the Performance of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Anode supported solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) were fabricated by addition of various metal oxides such as Fe2 O3 , Co3 O4 and TiO2 to thin anode functional layers between the electrolyte ...
Stainless Steel/Yttria Stabilized Zirconia Composite Supported Solid Oxide Fuel Cell
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this paper composite supports for solid oxide fuel cells were fabricated and evaluated. Substrates were composed of stainless steel and yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) powders mixed in ...
The Property and Performance Differences Between Catalyst Coated Membrane and Catalyst Coated Diffusion Media
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Two fuel cell architectures, differing only by the surfaces onto which the electrodes were applied, have been analyzed to determine the root causes of dissimilarities in performance. The basic ...
Effect of Increasing Number of Residential SOFC Cogeneration Systems Involved in Power Interchange Operation in Housing Complex on Energy Saving
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Residential solid oxide fuel cell cogeneration systems (R-FCGSs) have high generating efficiencies; however, they must be operated continuously because of their long warm-up times. Moreover, a ...
Preparation and Characterization of Nanocomposite Calcium Doped Ceria Electrolyte With Alkali Carbonates (NK-CDC) for SOFC
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The entire world’s challenge is to find out the renewable energy sources due to rapid depletion of fossil fuels because of their high consumption. Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are believed ...
Characterization and Quantification of Electronic and Ionic Ohmic Overpotential and Heat Generation in a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Anode
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The development of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) with a higher efficiency and power density requires an improved understanding and treatment of the irreversibilities. Losses due to the electronic ...
