ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Dynamic Modeling of the Ball-on-Flexible Beam Using Euler–Lagrangian Formulation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Nonprehensile manipulation involves moving objects without physical grasping using methods such as rolling, sliding, pushing, and throwing. In the context of rolling manipulation, a novel nonconventional type manipulator, ...
Long-Term Prediction of Large-Scale and Sporadic COVID-19 Epidemics Induced by the Original Strain in China Based on the Improved Nonautonomous Delayed Susceptible-Infected-Recovered-Dead and Susceptible-Infected-Removed Models
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The COVID-19 virus emerged abruptly in early 2020 and disseminated swiftly, resulting in a substantial impact on public health. This paper aims to forecast the evolution of large-scale and sporadic COVID-19 outbreaks, ...
α-Robust Error Analysis of L2-1σ Scheme on Graded Mesh for Time-Fractional Nonlocal Diffusion Equation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this work, a time-fractional nonlocal diffusion equation is considered. Based on the L2-1σ scheme on a graded mesh in time and the standard finite element method (FEM) in space, the fully-discrete L2-1σ finite element ...
Dynamic Characteristics of Three-Body Braking System Considering Tire-Road Friction
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: With the significant increase in vehicle ownership in our country, urban traffic conditions have become increasingly congested. Low-speed driving has become more prevalent, leading to more frequent instances of starting ...
Reviewer's Recognition
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The Reviewers of the Year Award is given to reviewers who have made an outstanding contribution to the journal in terms of the quantity, quality, and turnaround time of reviews completed during the past 12 months. The prize ...
Effect of Gear Tooth Cracks on the Dynamic Characteristics of Gear Transmission System of High-Speed Train
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In order to study the dynamic characteristics of a high-speed train gear transmission system with cracks, time-varying meshing stiffness of gear teeth with different cracks was obtained using energy method. A torsional ...
Reduced Order Synchronization of Two Non-Identical Special Class of Strict Feedback Systems Via Back-Stepping Control Technique
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work offers a systematic technique to achieve reduced order synchronization (ROS) between two different order general classes of chaotic systems in a master-slave configuration. In this study, the dynamics of the ...
P-Bifurcation Analysis of a Quarter-Car Model With Inerter-Based Pendulum Vibration Absorber: A Wiener Path Integration Approach
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this theoretical study, a recently developed inerter-based pendulum vibration absorber (IPVA) coupled with energy harvesting capabilities is applied to the quarter car model with class C road conditions (ISO 8608). The ...
Data Driven Approach to Determine Linear Stability of Delay Differential Equations Using Orthonormal History Functions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Delay differential equations (DDEs) appear in many applications, and determining their stability is a challenging task that has received considerable attention. Numerous methods for stability determination of a given DDE ...
Alternate Forms to Lagrange–D'Alembert Principle for Treatment of Rheonomic Constraints
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Lagrange–D'Alembert principle is based on the concept of the nonactual and nonmeasurable virtual displacement and the assumption that the system-constraint forces are workless. Because time is not considered in defining ...
