ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Comparative Numerical Study of Melting Behavior of a Phase Change Material in Shell and Tube Latent Heat Energy Storage Unit With Longitudinal, Spiral, and Annular Fins in Horizontal and Vertical Orientations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Owing to the high storage capacity of the latent heat energy storage unit (LHSU), it is preferred among other types of thermal energy storage to overcome the mismatch between energy supply and demand. The orientation of ...
Numerical Simulation of Enhanced Geothermal System With Complex Fracture Networks
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Geothermal resource is one of the most promising renewable energies, which is successfully accessed by the enhanced geothermal system (EGS) characterized by a complex fracture network. Therefore, complex fracture networks ...
Multi-Objective Optimization of an Inlet Air-Cooled Combined Cycle Power Plant
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The present work aims to investigate the effect of inlet air cooling in conjunction with other input parameters on the exergetic performance of combined cycle power plants (CCPP). To mitigate the adverse effects of high ...
Numerical Simulation of Soil Heat and Moisture Migration Containing Different Stones Using Lattice Boltzmann Method
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Increasing attention has been paid to the study of heat and moisture migration in soils, but little research has been done on heat and moisture transport in soils containing stones. In this paper, an improved random ...
Calculation of Nuclear Reactor Cooling Tower Performance With Limited Data Streams
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Monitoring of cooling tower performance in a nuclear reactor facility is necessary to ensure safe operation; however, instrumentation for measuring performance characteristics can be difficult to install and may malfunction ...
Numerical Investigation on the Cooling Effectiveness and Pressure Loss of a Novel Laminated Cooling Configuration With Cellular Partition
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The laminated cooling is believed to be a promising cooling scheme for the next generation of advanced gas turbines. In order to build a cooling system with high performance, it is necessary to develop a more revolutionary ...
Thermal Performance of Car Radiator Operated by Al2O3–Ethylene Glycol/Water-Based Nanofluids: A Computational Fluid Dynamics Study
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This study analyzed the heat transfer potential of nanofluids (suspension of Al2O3 nanoparticles in 60:40 mixtures of ethylene glycol and water by volume) compared to the base fluid by modeling the flow in both laminar and ...
The Quantitative Study on the Influence of Operating Parameters Upon Thermal Performance of Heating Furnace
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: With the development of the social economy, people’s demand for energy is increasing. As a kind of high energy consumption equipment in petrochemical enterprises, the heating furnace is imperative to reduce its energy ...
Experimental Research on Heat Transfer Performance of CO2 Tube Bundle Falling Film Evaporator
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: CO2 is a promising refrigerant substitute, and falling film evaporator is widely used in high-capacity heat pump systems. In this article, a CO2 heat pump experimental device is built. According to experimental parameters, ...
A Multi-Objective Comprehensive Evaluation of Heat Transfer Performance of a Direct-Contact Heat Exchanger
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Direct-contact heat exchangers have great potential for waste-heat utilization. This study established a multi-objective evaluation model of the volumetric heat-transfer coefficient, entransy dissipation, and uniformity ...
