ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

An Experimental Study of the Evolution of Yield Loci for Anisotropic Materials Subjected to Finite Shear Deformation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a set of experimental results concerning the evolution of yield loci for anisotropic materials in the course of finite shear deformation history. Thin walled tubes of SAE ...
Study of the Effect of Deformation on the Axes of Anisotropy
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Many metal forming operations, such as rolling and tube drawing, are known to induce orthotropic anisotropy. The change of axes of orthotropy with subsequent deformation has been studied in ...
Time-Resolved Water Measurement in a PEM Fuel Cell Using High-Resolution Neutron Imaging Technique
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The dynamic process of water transport along the through-plane direction in the membrane electrode assembly of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell was investigated using the high-resolution ...
The Workspaces of a Mechanical Manipulator
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A new theory and a resulting algorithm for tracing the bounding surfaces of mechanical manipulator workspaces is presented. The natures of the numerous singular configurations and means of ...
Spherical Phase-Change Energy Storage With Constant Temperature Heat Injection
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Storage of thermal energy due to latent heat involved during outward radial melting of a phase-change material contained in a spherical shell is solved using variational, integral and quasi-steady ...
Optimization of Cold Rolling by Nonlinear Programming
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The problem of determining the optimum design parameters of single pass and multipass cold strip rolling is considered. The problem is formulated and solved as a constrained nonlinear programming ...
Dynamic Response of Rigid-Plastic Circular Plates in a Damping Medium
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
A Mass and Energy Conserving Finite Element Lubrication Algorithm
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A previous mass-conserving finite element cavitation model is extended to include energy conservation in the lubricant film. The extension introduces no additional iteration and very little ...
Dynamic Plastic Response of Circular Plates With Transverse Shear
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
