ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Modal Analysis of Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication: A Connecting Rod Application
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A method for performing transient elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHD) analysis of journal bearings using the concept of modeshapes was developed earlier. This method was referred to as the modal ...
A Finite Element Cavitation Algorithm
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A mass-conserving model is presented for the transient evolution of cavitation in lubrication analysis. Algorithms are given for its finite element implementation in both direct problems (specified ...

A Finite Element Cavitation Algorithm: Application/Validation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A mass-conserving simulation algorithm for cavitating hydrodynamic lubrication has been described elsewhere. The algorithm, which is particularly well adapted to finite element implementation, is ...

Flow Separation in Shock Wave Boundary Layer Interactions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work presents an assessment of the experimental data on separated flow in shock wave turbulent boundary layer interactions at hypersonic and supersonic speeds. The data base consists of ...
Contact Stress Analysis of Spiral Bevel Gears Using Finite Element Analysis
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A procedure is presented for performing three-dimensional stress analysis of spiral bevel gears in mesh using the finite element method. The procedure involves generating a finite element model ...
