ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Algorithm for Detecting Load-Carrying Regions Within the Tip Seat of an Indexable Cutting Tool
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Maintaining an even pressure distribution in an indexable cutting tool interface is crucial to the life expectancy of a carbide insert. Avoiding uneven pressure distribution is highly relevant for intermittent cutting ...
Reconstruction Algorithm for Complex Dexel Models Based on Composite Block Partition
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In machining simulations, dexel models are often used to represent objects to achieve high accuracy and real-time performance. However, this approach leads to the loss of original surface information and topological ...
Efficient Mapping Between Void Shapes and Stress Fields Using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks With Sparse Data
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Establishing fast and accurate structure-to-property relationships is an important component in the design and discovery of advanced materials. Physics-based simulation models like the finite element method (FEM) are often ...
Enhancing Part Quality Management Using a Holistic Data Fusion Framework in Metal Powder Bed Fusion Additive Manufacturing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Metal powder bed fusion additive manufacturing (AM) processes have gained widespread adoption for the ability to produce complex geometries with high performance. However, a multitude of factors still affect the build ...
Comparative Analysis of Convolutional Neural Network Architectures for Automated Knee Segmentation in Medical Imaging: A Performance Evaluation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Segmentation of anatomical components is a major step in creating accurate and realistic 3D models of the human body, which are used in many clinical applications, including orthopedics. Recently, many deep learning ...
Early Prediction of Human Intention for Human–Robot Collaboration Using Transformer Network
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Human intention prediction plays a critical role in human–robot collaboration, as it helps robots improve efficiency and safety by accurately anticipating human intentions and proactively assisting with tasks. While current ...
A Case Study on Digital Training: Benefits and Unexplored Opportunities
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In an era characterized by the increasing complexity of products and the rapid turnover of the workforce across different companies, there is a growing need to invest significantly in quick and efficient training methods. ...
Vector Field-Based Volume Peeling for Multi-Axis Machining
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents an easy-to-control volume peeling method for multi-axis machining based on the computation taken on vector fields. The current scalar field-based methods are not flexible and the vector field-based ...
Cellular Chaos: Statistically Self-Similar Structures Based on Chaos Game
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: We present a novel methodology to generate mechanical structures based on fractal geometry using the chaos game, which generates self-similar point-sets within a polygon. Using the Voronoi decomposition of these points, ...
GLHAD: A Group Lasso-Based Hybrid Attack Detection and Localization Framework for Multistage Manufacturing Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: As Industry 4.0 and digitization continue to advance, the reliance on information technology increases, making the world more vulnerable to cyberattacks, especially cyber-physical attacks that can manipulate physical systems ...
