description abstractA design procedure is presented which focuses upon a dynamic compensator of prespecified structural form. The order and feedback matrices of the compensator are first chosen to achieve stability through pole assignment via plant output feedback. The compensator feedforward matrices are then selected to satisfy various steady state and static or dynamic decoupling constraints. Results are summarized in application to a large scale power plant.
