Recent Developments in Control Theory in Austria, Switzerland, and Western Germany

Abstract

Contributions in the field of control theory by authors from Austria, Switzerland, and Western Germany from 1970 until the present are reviewed. Six topics are discussed: Stability, Distributed Parameter Systems, System Theory, Sampled-Data Systems, Identification, and Optimization. Each of these sections contains short comments on important papers in the corresponding fields which were extracted from commonly available literature. Seventy-two references are given, most of which are written in the English language. The majority of the papers are not pure mathematical problems, but applications of modern control theory.
