description abstract | We develop a continuum mixture theory to study harmonic and transient shear wave motions in laminated wave guides. Both transversely (SV) and horizontally (SH) polarized waves are considered. Dispersion relations are derived and compared with exact and other approximate theory predictions. Transient solutions for both types of waves are also investigated via the “head-of-the pulse” approximations. | |
