Abstract: The 22nd National and 11th ISHMTASME Heat and Mass Transfer Conference was held in India at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur campus during the period December 28–31, 2013. The topics included all aspects of heat and mass transfer. It was decided that some contributed papers, applications in nature and presented at the conference, after being recommended by the international scientific community, would be considered for publication in a special issue of the ASME Journal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications. The selected papers have undergone a rigorous peerreview process.
