description abstractThis paper discusses a procedure for the synthesis of hybrid control systems which incorporate both continuous (proportional) and decisional (binary) variables. A hybrid logic algebra is presented which permits the mathematical statement of input-output relations involving both types of variables. Simplification of these relations is straightforward using the algebra. An example is presented to illustrate the synthesis procedure. Fluid power, electronic, and fluidic implementation schemes are identified.
