    Abstract: This paper emphasizes the importance of temperature in thrust-bearing analysis. The analysis presented consists of simultaneous solution of the momentum, energy, and elasticity equations for centrally pivoted, sector-shaped, thrust-bearing pads. Elastic deformations due to the pressure distribution and thermal gradients are considered. Laminar and adiabatic conditions are assumed in the fluid film, and the lubricant is incompressible.
