Abstract: Few people would trust their solar house to eight different families over a period of 18 years, but that is exactly what we did with our solar house in Knoxville, Tennessee. We built the house during the winter of 1978–79 and moved out of the state in August of 1982. We moved back into the house in August of 2000 upon retirement.
