Abstract: This paper complements several previous papers on modeling of the impact between two elastic bodies with a liquid lubricant. The main feature of the work is the efficient incorporation of various engineering aspects of the impact process making use of approximations consistent with the physical insights of the problem. The model can very efficiently calculate the impact load and the coefficient of restitution with reasonable accuracy for a wide range of the problem domain. The modeling concepts and methodology may be useful in future research on interdisciplinary analyses of the dynamics of mechanical systems in which the interactions are strong between vibrations of the components and impacts in the lubricated kinematic pairs.
