    DOI: 10.1115/1.3607760
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The paper discusses the criteria of the most effective energy dissipation of either an object falling upon a viscoelastic foundation or a vehicle striking a barrier, such that the impacting mass does not separate (rebound) from the support structure, and the maximum deceleration of the striking mass is a minimum.
