    Abstract: For the linear free vibration of minimum surface membranes, the governing equations and the associated variational functional are derived. Using the basic geometrical characteristics of any two minimum surface membranes, the analysis brings to light the existence of geometrically different surface membranes with identical surface areas, natural frequencies, and vibrating modes.
