Abstract: This paper presents the results of the thermal/hydraulic analysis of a commercial-size molten salt solar central cavity receiver. Included are a description of the receiver; performance characteristics; sensitivity of salt and tubewall temperatures to variations in heat flux, flow distribution, and uncertainties in design parameters.
