    Abstract: The final target of development of the advanced gas turbine sponsored by MITI of Japan is a thermal efficiency of over 55 percent at an HPT inlet temperature of 1400°C as a combined plant. In order to attain this target, a feasibility study of the design and various R & D tasks have been conducted. This paper will first present the basic plan and then some important R & D items.
