description abstractA stable model reduction technique based upon minimum impulse response error is presented. By using a stability equation along with Pade’s approximation, the proposed method maintains stability. Two parameters used in the reduced model provide the additional degree of freedom and are optimized to reduce the impulse response error. Three simple numerical examples are presented for comparison among different reduced model methods and validate the advantage of this method.
