    Abstract: A simple method for real-time estimation of the parameters which characterize the relation between cutting force and feed in turning is described. The method produces very accurate results which make it suitable for use in Adaptive Control Constrain (ACC) and Adaptive Control Optimization (ACO) systems. In both cases, models describing different cutting process variables are assumed in which constants are predetermined by off-line experiments. The described method will make it possible to determine these constants on-line.
