description abstractThe performance of high-temperature slagging coal-utilization systems depend on the collection of coal ash on the reactor surfaces and the flow of the slag out of the reactor through a slag-tap hole. In order to develop an analytical model for flow of the slag on a reactor wall, existing data for slag viscosity were reviewed in light of new emerging-process conditions. A Bingham model was selected for viscosity and the flow characteristics along a reactor wall are developed.
