description abstractThe experimental data are presented on the deposition of particulate on transpiration air-cooled turbine vanes operating in a cascade for a series of tests using distillate fuel contaminated with alumina or fly ash. The data are discussed in view of the known mechanisms of deposition. Qualitative discussion of the role of electrostatic charge on the deposition in gas turbines is also presented.
