Abstract: The paper describes derivation of data and guidelines for coburning of municipal sludges and unprepared solid waste, giving approximate limits of applicability using direct coburning model with minimum sludge preparation. No attempt is made to evaluate or compare direct coburning with alternate codisposal concepts such as flash drying, indirect drying, coburning with refuse-derived fuel, etc.
