description abstractTransient response of an infinite elastic strip with a circular hole is investigated in this study. A normal stress is suddenly applied and maintained at the hole. The boundary condition equations are satisfied in the Laplace transformed domain. A numerical Laplace inversion technique is then used to recover the time dependence of the solution.
