Abstract: The liquid lubricated partial journal bearing is analyzed in an approximate yet accurate manner in order to obtain its static and dynamic properties. The solution of the governing differential equation is analytical rather than numerical, permitting inexpensive computation of results over a very wide range of the parameters involved.
