    Approximate Formulas for Myocardial Fiber Stresses

    Abstract: Approximate formulas are developed for the stress in the muscle fibers of the myocardium of the left ventircle based on a fiber-fluid model of the tissue. It is shown that the fiber stress can be approximated using a formula similar to the thin cylinder approximation using a mean fiber curvature for the radius.
