    Abstract: The analytical solution for the normal load carrying capacity of lightly loaded cylinders in combined rolling, sliding and normal motion is obtained. It is shown that the load capacity is inversely proportional to the dimensionless minimum film thickness. The results are presented graphically and approximated in the form of an exponential function.
