| description abstract | Cutting force variation in plain milling with a multi-toothed helical cutter can be obtained by calculation on the basis of the measured cutting force variation in plain milling with a single-toothed helical cutter. To comprehend the variation of cutting force quantitatively, a technical term of “variation rate” is defined. The variation rate of cutting force in plain milling with a multi-toothed helical cutter indicates minimum values in a certain number of teeth. To minimize cutting force variation, the relationships between the number of teeth and the cutting factors are discussed from the viewpoint of the variation rate. | |
