description abstract | The micropolar fluid theory is used to analyze the elastohydrodynamic inlet zone of a line contact. The analysis, which is based on Grubin’s approximation, indicates clearly that the additive caused film thickness enhancement as observed by several researchers in heavily loaded contacts has a possible explanation in this theory. | |
