    Workpiece Surface Roughening in a Hydrodynamically Lubricated Metal Forming Process

    Source: Journal of Tribology:;1977:;volume( 099 ):;issue: 001::page 10
    Author:
    W. R. D. Wilson
    DOI: 10.1115/1.3452956
    Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
    Abstract: A mathematical model for the roughening of the workpiece in a hydrodynamically lubricated metal forming process is developed. Roughening is assumed to result from local variations in the workpiece flow strength. The results of the analysis are compared with previous experimental measurements.
