description abstractA method for studying the behavior of transient longitudinal waves in fiber-reinforced composites, both in high and low frequency ranges, is presented. The results agree well with the solutions obtained by means of the transform method. The dispersive effect of waves to the interpretation of experimental results is also demonstrated by comparing the results obtained from the ultrasonic pulse technique.
