description abstractThe elastic-plastic behavior of rotationally symmetric sandwich shells is considered in the presence of the thermal effects arising from thermal straining and the temperature dependence of the yield strength. The mathematical nature of the problem is discussed in some detail for the case of cylindrical shells.
