    Semiempirical Analysis of Cavitation in the Wake of a Sharp-Edged Disk

    Source: Journal of Fluids Engineering:;1976:;volume( 098 ):;issue: 003::page 560

    Roger E. A. Arndt
    DOI: 10.1115/1.3448395
    Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
    Abstract: Previously published inception data for cavitation in the wake of sharp-edged disks are reanalyzed. The boundary layer characteristics at the face of the disk are found to play a major role. Good correlation between theory and experiment is achieved when the boundary layer is laminar.
