description abstractA theoretical analysis of a gas turbine flowmeter in the measurement of pulsating flow is presented. The flow considered is periodic with repeatable but arbitrary wave shape. Both fluid drag and nonfluid drag on the rotor system are included in the analysis. Theoretical meter error due to pulsating flow is compared to test results from carefully controlled and instrumented laboratory tests. Results of this comparison and uses of the analysis are discussed.
