description abstractOrthopedic and dental implants have revolutionized modern medicine by providing a permanent solution to various orthopedic and dental conditions. The use of implants has increased significantly in recent years, owing to the development of modern technologies and materials, which have enhanced the durability, strength, and functionality of implants. This Special Section issue aims to explore the recent developments in orthopedic and dental implants and their impact on patients' lives.Orthopedic implants are being manufactured via 3D printing, often known as additive manufacturing. Through the use of 3D printing, implants may be produced with a high-degree of precision, promoting patient-specific implants, and improving their accuracy and adaptability. The development of spinal implants as well as implants to replace the hip and knee have both benefited from the use of this technology. With the advent of additive manufacturing, it is now possible to create implants with intricate forms. Furthermore, 3D printing has made it feasible to create implants that are uniquely suited to the patient's anatomy. Patient quality of life has been improved by reducing implant-related problems including implant loosening or bone resorption.
