Abstract: In order to avoid the misuse of metal material in nuclear projects, typical cases happened in advanced passive pressurized water reactor (AP1000) nuclear power projects in China are analyzed. The analysis finding indicates that some cases were caused by defective procedures or undemanding processes performance, and all cases are found to be relevant to human error. It is considered that procedural management cannot completely avoid the misuse of metal material when it is caused by human error, and spectrometry analysis is suggested to reexamine the material of key components.
