ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Mechanical and Economic Analysis of Conventional Aluminum Photovoltaic Module Frames, Frames With Side Holes, and Open-Source Downward-Fastened Frames for Non-Traditional Racking
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Using bolts through the back of a solar photovoltaic (PV) module frames to attach them to racking is time consuming and awkward, so commercial PV installations use clamping technologies on the front. Conventional and ...
Technical and Economic Performance of Four Solar Cooling and Power Co-Generated Systems Integrated With Facades in Chinese Climate Zones
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: There has been an increasing interest in solar-driven combined energy supply systems for low-temperate applications, particularly those based on the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC), Kalina Cycle (KC), or Trilateral Cycle (TLC). ...
The Effect of Wind Direction on the Cooling Capacity of Short Dry Natural Draft Cooling Towers Operating in Close Proximity
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The layout of multiple natural draft dry cooling towers could have a significant influence on the performance of the cooling system in concentrated solar power (CSP) plants; however, this has never been quantified. Hence, ...
Evaluation of the Performance of Twin Rotor Vertical Axis Wind Turbines Employing Large Eddy Simulations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The current strong global consensus on reducing carbon emissions is a motivation to develop more efficient means of harnessing sustainable sources of energy. Accordingly, research efforts toward the development of more ...
An Accurate Explicit Six-Parameter Solar Cell Model Based on Single-Diode and Its Parameter Extraction for Seven Photovoltaic Technologies
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The mathematical modeling of solar cells and panels is critical in many photovoltaic applications. However, the standard single-diode solar cell model, commonly selected to model these devices, is implicit and difficult ...
Performance of Finned Absorber Plate Solar Air Heater Having Multiple Triangular Air Flow Passages in Parallel Under Transition to Turbulent Flow Condition
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents the results of thermal performance study of a solar air heater having absorber plate with inclined fins fitted in equilateral triangular flow passages in parallel using the governing equations under ...
Thermal and Electrical Analyses of Organometallic Halide Solar Cells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: For organometallic halide solar cells (OHSC), it is expected that their performance in hot climates is to be challenged by high operating temperature conditions typical of these regions. This study explores, for the first ...
