ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Spun Steel Pipes for the Offshore Industry
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Many parts either for sea-line pipes as “buckle” or “crack arrestor,” or for structures may require the use of wall tubular products with high mechanical properties. Such heavy-wall pipes may ...

Nonlinear Response of Reinforced Concrete Slabs Represented by Beam Grids
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The objective of this paper is to present a grid model for the nonlinear analysis of plates. The model, composed of a grid of beam elements responding in flexure and torsion, is described ...
Experimental and Analytical Investigation of the Convective Diffusion of Methane Into Air
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The concentration changes with time and space of methane gas were examined following its release into air at atmospheric pressure within a long smooth cylindrical tube of 2.5 in. (63.5 mm) ...
An Analytical Study of Heat and Mass Transfer Within an Oil Sand Bed
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The physical processes that occur typically within an oil sand bed are considered when the bed is subjected to a hot gaseous stream. In this study, the extent of fluid volatilization was ...
Volatilization of Packed Beds of Oil Sand Particles
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Based on a quasi-steady system, published experimental data on mass transfer in packed beds of spherical particles at relatively low Reynolds numbers, were employed to estimate the convective ...
An Improved Model for Predicting Heat Losses and Pressure Changes in Steam Injection Wells—Part 2: Model Evaluation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The improved model developed in Part 1 for predicting heat losses and pressure changes in steam injection wells is evaluated. It shows good agreement with limited field data. The improved model ...
